Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drug Abuse

Drug Free Communities of Fond du Lac County partners with CSI to decrease and prevent underage alcohol, tobacco and other drug use through:

  • Prescription Medication Safety Best Practices: Education of community members with the “Prescription for a Safe Community” campaign focusing on securing, not sharing and proper disposal of medications. Managing the 24/7 Drug Drop Box located at the City of Fond du Lac Police Department and the annual Drug Disposal Day throughout the county.
  • Underage Drinking: Working with Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac in developing and implementing environmental strategies to reduce underage drinking. In addition, recognizing youth-led groups such as Fond du Lac High School's, STAAND, (Students Taking Action Against Negative Decisions) highlighting the positive choices students are making to stay drug and alcohol free.
  • Decreasing Tobacco Use: NOT (Not on Tobacco) a student cessation program and FACT (Fighting Against Corporate Tobacco) a student lead club to prevent tobacco use are offered at all Fond du Lac School District middle and high schools. Tobacco Compliance Checks are held throughout the city and county.
