Did you know there are many common household items and paraphernalia that may indicate a drug abuse problem for your child or grandchild with marijuana, tobacco, prescription drugs, heroin or alcohol? There are also certain behaviors that may indicate drug abuse in your teen. Youth who use drugs or alcohol before the age of 14 or 15 are 20-25% more likely to develop a drug dependency or addiction in their lifetime.
Hidden in Plain Sight is a presentation and mock bedroom for parents, grandparents, educators and community members. Learn how drug use negatively impacts youth development, warning signs and associated risky behaviors, common household items used as paraphernalia and new drug trends, such as JUUL’s. You’ll also learn prevention and intervening strategies if you suspect drug use, and resources available in Fond du Lac County. As a community we have a responsibility to be a part of the solution. So, join us and learn what you can do to prevent youth drug & alcohol abuse.
