Screening

Since 2002

Emotional health screening in Fond du Lac County began in 2002, when Fond du Lac High School became the first site in Wisconsin to use the TeenScreen protocol. Eleven years later, in the Fall of 2013,  the program’s title was formally trademarked and changed to Fond du Lac Area YScreen.

Fond du Lac Area YScreen currently utilizes the Pediatric Symptom Checklist-Youth Report as the measuring instrument, which research shows is a valid tool to assess the health of teenagers and assist teens in connecting with professional assistance if necessary.

Screening site expansion has continued over the years. Screening is currently offered at 12 public, private and charter schools as well as through Fond du Lac County Juvenile Court Services.
