Reach Out And Read

Through a partnership with the Fond du Lac Area United Way, SPROUT (Supporting Positive Relationships So Our Children Under 6 Can Thrive), St Vincent De Paul, and the Aurora Health Care Foundation, Aurora Health Care will be implementing a Reach out and Read Literacy Program summer of 2018. Reach Out and Read is and evidence-based literacy program designed to be implemented by medical professionals who provide primary care to children, ages 6 months through 5 years, as part of the well-child checkup. Using books in the exam room creates an opportunity to talk about other relevant topics such as sleep routines, the importance of a child’s first 2,000 days, school readiness as well as offering the provider a new, valuable tool for monitoring the child’s development.
