Powerful Healing Effects of Nature
Did you know nature can improve your mental health and overall well-being?
A study found that people who walked for 90 minutes in a natural area, as opposed to participants who walked in a high-traffic urban setting, showed decreased activity in a region of the brain associated with a key factor in depression.
It was also found that time in nature has a positive effect on mood and aspects of cognitive function, including working memory, as well as a dampening effect on anxiety.
Tip: Make an effort to get in at least two 15 minute walks outside throughout the day. Take a walk during lunch and after dinner.
